The Way of Shambhala offers a structured path of meditation and study, and weaves the streams of the Shambhala warriorship teachings and traditional buddhism into a single, experiential path. The approach emphasizes how the teachings and practices apply to the challenges of our lives and world.
The Way of Shambhala includes a sequential series of weekend retreats (the Heart of Warriorship levels I through V) and weeknight courses. The weekend retreats provide a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice. The weeknight courses introduce students to the three yanas of Buddhism (hinayana, mahayana, and vajrayana) and the four dignities of Shambhala warriorship (Tiger, Lion, Garuda, and Dragon).
The Way of Shambhala is set up to alternate between weekend retreats and weeknight courses, but participants may choose to attend the Shambhala Training weekend retreats sequentially, independent of the weeknight courses. In addition, most of the weeknight courses will be open to people who have not completed the weekends.
