Group meditation practice takes place at the Ottawa Shambhala Meditation Centre on:
Tuesdays from 7 to 7:45pm;
Wednesdays from 7 to 8pm (starting in January 2010), and
Sunday mornings from 10am to noon.
It is always free of charge.
"In meditation, what we are doing is looking at our experience and at the world intelligently. We all have the ability to realize our naturally peaceful mind where there is no confusion. We can use the natural clarity of our mind to focus on anything we want." — Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche
Group meditation helps us establish and sustain a regular personal practice. Group practice in a peaceful setting encourages and inspires our home practice. It also allows us to connect with fellow meditators and fosters a sense of community.
We recommend receiving meditation instruction before coming for group meditation practice. Meditation instruction is given twice a month on Wednesday evenings at 7pm during the Learn to Meditate open houses.
Other courses can help you establish and deepen your meditation practice:
Meditation instructors are also available if you have questions about your meditation practice or which courses to take.
Week-long and month-long meditation retreats (dathuns) are offered at all Shambhala retreat centres in a number of locations in North America and Europe.
