Meditation instructors are members who have been practicing for many years and who have been trained to provide instruction, support and guidance. They also serve as Shambhala Training directors and assistant-directors as well as Buddhist teachers.
Shambhala guides have been trained to provide initial meditation instruction and a follow-up meeting that includes referring students to meditation instructors at their request.
Anyone interested in meditation practice is encouraged to work with a Shambhala Guide or Meditation Instructor (MI). This can involve one or two meetings to receive initial meditation instruction and a follow-up session, or an on-going relationship with an instructor involving regular meetings to discuss meditation and how to deal with obstacles to your practice.
Both MIs and guides can also help you to decide on appropriate programs and study to deepen your understanding of the Shambhala Buddhist teachings. All communications between MI or guide and student are confidential.
You are invited to choose an MI or Shambhala guide on your own or to contact our Meditation Instruction Coordinator.
